After a first date, a young black man and woman (Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith) are pulled over for a minor traffic violation.

When the situation escalates, a white policeman is killed. Now labeled cop killers in the media, Slim and Queen feel they have no choice but to go on the run.

After a video of the incident goes viral, the unwitting outlaws soon become a symbol of trauma, terror, grief, pain, and hope for people across the country.

The soundtrack features various artists that honor the history and diversity of black music and aims to continue the legacy of artists who used their music as activism.
