Kick off the public opening of our new exhibition, Particles and Waves: Southern California Abstraction and Science, 1945-1990, with talks, screenings, and a book signing.

Join us for a talk on our newest exhibition with curators Sharrissa Iqbal and Michael Duncan. Together they will discuss how a range of artists in Southern California explored themes and ideas from science and engineering through abstract artwork. A book signing will follow the event.

Art historian Jason Weems examines the impact of postwar technological advancements on human vision and knowledge, accompanying a screening of the 1977 short film Powers of Ten by Ray and Charles Eames. Jason Weems is an associate professor of art history at the University of California, Riverside.
