The Palm Springs International Jazz Festival seeks to foster an appreciation for jazz, the uniquely American art form, through performance and education.
Day 1 Program:

Arturo Sandoval
Sound Check + Master Class
Famed trumpeter Arturo Sandoval will sound check his band. Students and interested visitors alike will be allowed to quietly witness the set-up and rehearsal, learning how professionals prepare for a concert. Afterward, Mr. Sandoval will hold a Q & A for those in attendance.
Free for students of Coachella Valley.

Stacey Kent
She has practically done it all over the past twenty years, selling north of two million albums, putting her gorgeously delicate stamp on standards, introducing fresh tunes into the canon, racking up awards, and bringing her flawless voice to fans in more than fifty countries.
With her warm, lyrical voice and poetic sense for interpreting standards, she is the epitome of jazz sophistication. $95, $250

Performing Artist Reception
Come mingle with the “Art & the artists” as you enjoy an abundance of gourmet appetizers and sip on specialty martini’s & cocktails in the atrium of the Palm Springs Art Museum. $250
