This A&D Talk is a webinar focusing on Jacqueline Groag, one of the most influential and versatile pattern designers of the post-war era and the focus of our current exhibition, Pattern Play, on view at the Architecture and Design Center.
Whether abstract or representational, Groag's avant-garde and naively charming patterns for textiles, dress fabrics, wallpaper, and laminates helped define the popular contemporary style and exerted a far-reaching influence on British design.
The talk will be a live hybrid event featuring in-person attendance in our theater as well as the online participation of several Groag experts: Ursula Prokop, author of Jacques and Jacqueline Groag, Architect and Designer, who will be calling in from Austria, and Geoffrey Rayner and Richard Chamberlin, two of three co-authors of the book Jacqueline Groag: Textile & Pattern Design: Wiener Werkstätte to American Modern, who will be speaking from the U.K.
You can attend the talk either in person or, view online through our web portal.
