Meet at the Conversation Pit inside Alexander Girard: A Designer’s Universe for a discussion about living with Girard’s work, the origin of sofa pillows, and the history of the conversation pit itself.

Gary and Joan Gand are known around town as musicians (The Gand Band), but what many may not know is that they have been avid collectors of mid-century modern furniture and art since the 1980s. They have an extensive collection of Alexander Girard environmental enrichment panels on display in their Palm Springs home, and have learned much about Girard over the years.
