S/LAB 2019

Student architecture and design projects exhibited at Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and Design Center:

Working with local elementary and high school students the Palm Springs Modern Committee (psmodcom.org), an architectural preservation and advocacy organization, offers numerous educational programs. Its education committee’s most extensive program is a fourth through eighth-grader in-class curriculum for students at Palm Springs St. Theresa Elementary school, facilitated with teacher Linda Patton-Hiatt.

Each summer the sixth-grade projects (architectural models); seventh-grade architectural artworks; and eighth-grade Powerpoint interviews are exhibited at the Palm Springs Art Museum Summer Lab (S/Lab) exhibition, at the Architecture and Design Center (A+DC) in downtown Palm Springs.

Prototypes for chairs, lamps, and Modernist birdhouses designed by College of the Desert students will also be on view.
