Creative Painting in Watercolor, Acrylic and Oil

Monday through Friday, May 12-16
9 am to 4 pm

  • Media: Watercolor, acrylic, oil
  • Fee: $400 AC members, $500 nonmembers

This workshop emphasizes individual guidance on techniques, composition and concept development in realism, impressionism and abstract painting. Class is conducted in a studio setting. Please bring your current “work in progress.”

Summer Workshops

The Artists Council announces the addition of Life Drawing Workshops for the summer. Please check each workshop's time carefully, as we are experimenting with some different class schedules. These are "facilitated" classes, not instructed. The classes will be in the AC Center and will be held on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, June 7, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 19, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 2, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 6, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 20, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The workshop fee is required to reserve space in class. You may register with a check or credit card. Class size is limited.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If cancellation is received at least one month prior to the workshop, your payment will be refunded less $50. If you cancel within the month preceding your workshop, there will be no refund of workshop fees unless your cancelled space is filled by another student. In that case, your payment will be refunded less $50. There will be no prorated refunds for partial workshop attendance.


The Palm Springs Art Museum is the only accredited art museum in the Inland Empire region (including Riverside and San Bernardino counties with a combined population of 2,500,000 million residents). The Art Museum is located in the Coachella Valley, a 450-square mile area comprised of nine desert cities with a permanent population of 400,000, expanding to over 550,000 during the winter months.
